Virginia Reads One Book: Join Us for an Exciting School-Wide Reading Adventure!

Get ready, Bellevue! We are thrilled to kick off Virginia Reads One Book—a special event where our entire school community comes together to read The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies. From March 3-7, 2025, we will dive into this fun and engaging story, following siblings Evan and Jessie as they turn a summer lemonade stand into an all-out competition. Along the way, they learn important lessons about business, friendship, and family.

Each night, students will read a portion of the book at home, and each morning, we’ll test their knowledge with trivia questions during our announcements. To make the event even more exciting, we’re launching a themed Spirit Week to celebrate our shared reading experience!

Spirit Week - March 3-7
Monday: Wear yellow or lemon-themed outfits to kick off The Lemonade War!
Tuesday: Sock it to Reading—wear crazy or mismatched socks.
Wednesday: Readable Shirt Day—wear a shirt with words on it.
Thursday: Cozy up with a good book—bring a stuffed animal to school in your bookbag to read during independent reading.
Friday: Team up with Books—wear a jersey or team gear.
