Katisha Marrow
Literacy Coach
My name is Katisha Marrow, and I will be serving as a Literacy Coach at Bellevue Elementary this year. I have my masters in Education from Cambridge College, and in Reading with a focus on TESOL from Virginia Commonwealth University. I also have an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Liberty University. Currently, I have a Postgraduate Professional license in Virginia with endorsements in Reading Specialist, English as a Second Language, Emotional Disturbance, Intellectual Disabilities, Specific Learning Disabilities, and Elementary Education PK-6. I am passionate about empowering educators and students to unlock the power of reading and writing. With over 19 years of experience in education, I specialize in developing and implementing literacy strategies that enhance student engagement, comprehension, and critical thinking. My approach is centered around building strong relationships with teachers, understanding their unique classroom needs, and providing personalized support through coaching, modeling, co-teaching, and collaborative planning. I believe in creating inclusive literacy environments where all students, regardless of background or ability, can thrive. My goal is to foster a love of literacy in every learner, while helping educators grow professionally and refine their teaching practices. Together, we can cultivate a generation of confident, lifelong readers and writers.

Michele Cadwallader
Reading Interventionalist
Michele Cadwallader is entering her 25th year of teaching and leadership in public schools across several states. Currently, she serves as the Reading Interventionist for Bellevue Elementary where she both teaches students and directs the school-wide reading intervention program. She achieved National Board Certification in Early-Middle Childhood Literacy. Prior to her work at RPS, Michele spent six years coaching hundreds of novice and veteran teachers to improve their practice and increase their students’ academic achievement. She holds a B.A. in French Literature from Knox College and a M.Ed in Reading from the University of Texas – Pan American. She lives in Richmond, VA with her family.
