Good morning, Bellevue community,

We are sharing a quick update on our ongoing efforts inside the Bellevue building.

Facilities Updates:

  • RPS had a licensed mold remediation specialist from Southern Environmental conduct an initial assessment of the building.

  • Based on their recommendations, a specialized cleaning and treatment protocol is scheduled to begin on Saturday, August 29th.

  • The assessment revealed a likely contributing cause for the concern: unconditioned external air entering the building through the attic and mixing with conditioned indoor air.

  • To fix this at the source, our Facilities team is launching an insulation sealing project that will run concurrently with the remediation cleaning protocol.

  • We remain unclear at this time whether or not what was surfaced was mold, but we will have clearer answers following the air quality tests. 

  • Comprehensive air quality testing will take place immediately following the cleaning and treatment phase. We will publish the results to the community.

All impacted students and staff remain temporarily moved to other classrooms until we have confirmation of clear air quality testing.
