Lockdown Drill

Dear Families,As part of our commitment to student safety, Bellevue will conduct a routine lockdown drill tomorrow, Wednesday, September 16 at approximately 8:30am.  
 The primary goal of this drill is to ensure our students and staff are familiar with emergency procedures. Teachers will review safety protocols with students beforehand in an age-appropriate, reassuring manner to minimize any anxiety.
 What to expect during the drill:
 

• School Access: All exterior doors will be locked, and visitors will not be permitted to enter or exit the building during the exercise (approximately 10 minutes).
• Phone Lines: Office staff will be participating in the drill, so phone lines may be temporarily unmonitored until the drill concludes.

We encourage you to talk with your child after the drill to help reinforce that these exercises are normal practice routines designed to keep everyone safe, much like a standard fire drill.
